Recently, Mower conducted a survey among over 400 electrical and HVAC professionals across the United States to understand more about their shopping and product preferences: how they learn about new brands and tools, whether they were satisfied with the current offerings, and what would entice them to switch from their preferred brand to another. Here’s what we found:
68% of pros stick with the brands they were trained on, with only 25% admitting to switching their primary brand after training.
Despite this loyalty, 73% of HVAC and electrical pros report always being on the lookout for new brands, citing easier/faster to install as the number one reason for switching brands.
55% said that quality products are what make a brand trustworthy, but 21% said that brands are missing the mark with ongoing quality/durability issues for their products.
An overwhelming 92% of pros rely on distributors for new product information, with 48% saying distributors are their only source for new product info.
