In a world where attention spans are shrinking, marketers are constantly seeking ways to capture and retain the public’s interest. Social media has emerged as a powerful tool, with short, easily digestible content that can easily be amplified.
For Helio Health, a behavioral health system in Upstate New York, reaching its broad and diverse audience was essential to advancing its mission: improving lives affected by substance use disorder and mental health issues. They partnered with us to create an awareness campaign that would spotlight the benefits of treatment programs.
We began by diving deep into Helio Health’s target demographics and discovered that many of them are active social media users. TikTok, with its popularity and unique storytelling potential, became the perfect platform for our campaign. The goal was to capture attention quickly and foster connections that could drive real impact.
Given the platform’s influence—and the misinformation often spread on social media—we saw an opportunity to flip the script. Our mission was to replace dubious advice with authentic, inspiring stories about recovery and the positive outcomes of treatment.
We launched the “Treatment Works” TikTok campaign with two key objectives. First, to educate families of potential patients about the effectiveness of professional treatment and the vital role of community support in recovery. Second, to shed light on the complexities of substance use disorder, providing insights into the various treatment options available. To bring this message to life, we featured real Helio Health patients sharing their personal recovery journeys.
In just eight weeks, our campaign achieved remarkable results. The TikTok videos garnered 4.5 million impressions and significantly boosted Helio Health’s online presence. The organization saw a dramatic increase in website traffic, with over 99% of visitors being new to the site.
The “Treatment Works” campaign not only expanded Helio Health’s reach but also established a dynamic new way to connect with its audience, proving that short, powerful stories can drive big results.
