Mower has a terrific opportunity to join its fast paced, full service, advertising, marketing, public relations firm with multiple offices across the United States. The Senior HR Generalist we seek will provide support in many areas of the Human Resources functions of the agency including the following areas: processing of payroll, support of the recruitment and onboarding process, and the administration of EEO-1 reporting and Affirmative Action Plan. This position requires an extremely detail oriented person with progressive knowledge of payroll and taxation, along with federal and state regulations.
  

What you will do:

  • Process bi-weekly multi-state payroll for exempt and non-exempt employees, reconcile and audit payroll processing and taxation 
  • Process the off-cycle and year-end payroll 
  • Review monthly, quarterly, and annual payroll tax reports and filings, including employees w2’s and assist with yearly internal payroll audit
  • Process employee change requests, respond to employee inquiries and prepare payroll exceptions 
  • Compliance– data retrieval for EEO-1 reporting and affirmative action plan   
  • Assist with on-boarding of staff – facilitate completion and collection of new hire paperwork, work with hiring manager to set up orientation   
  • Responsible for claims management pertaining to unemployment 
  • Remain current on federal, state, and local employment, benefit and taxation laws and regulations 
  • Assist HR team in daily operations of the department, maintain confidentiality and discretion of information and ensure compliance and consistency through the agency 
  • Support recruitment process by reviewing resumes in applicant tracking system (ADP), prequalify candidates for manager review, set up phone screens, schedule interviews, attend local career/intern job fairs as needed 
  • Attend relevant payroll-related conferences on occasions
  • Other duties and projects as assigned 

 What you need:  

  • Degree in Human Resources or related field and 5+ years of experience in a functional HR role
  • 2+ years of experience processing multi-state payroll (ADP Workforce Now a plus)  
  • Solid knowledge of HR practices as well as federal, state, and local employment and taxation laws and regulations Abilities in math, principles of record keeping, and strong organizational and analytical skills are necessary 
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite, particularly, Excel and PowerPoint and web based HRIS systems  
  • Detail oriented, highly organized with excellent interpersonal and communication skills 
  • Ability to multi-task and prioritize efficiently
