Mower is currently seeking a self-motivated paralegal to join our growing advertising business. This role is responsible for reviewing and drafting contracts along with maintaining policies, guidelines, and contract templates for the advertising team.

Responsibilities will include (but are not limited to):

  • Act as the first legal point of contact for the company regarding required legal language in master services agreements, vendor contracts, NDA’s and leases
  • Manage contract execution process by drafting, reviewing, and negotiating contracts including adding standard terms for approvals in compliance with company policies and procedures
  • Work closely with outside legal counsel to address questions and clarify legal requirements
  • Administer contracts database and post-execution contract matters
  • Maintain client lists for contract requirements such as breach, background checks, insurance, publicity, exclusivity, termination provisions, payment terms and requirements related to independent contractors
  • Maintain policies, guidelines, and contract templates
  • Support continuous improvements of legal forms, policies and processes and automate where possible
  • Manage contract lifecycle, handle service requests, matters, outside counsel
  • Communicate and coordinate with account managers regarding deadlines and renewals of client contracts
  • Engage directly with senior management

Educational Requirements & Qualifications:

  • Minimum of 2-3 years of experience as a paralegal or similar function
  • Associate degree from an accredited college or university is recommended
  • Certificate from an ABA-approved paralegal program is preferred
  • Familiarity with advertising and sales terminology
  • Experience working in a cross-department, cross-functional role requiring good client skills, including the ability to independently solicit the advice and input of different colleagues as appropriate
  • Experience negotiating commercial contracts in the advertising space, including NDAs and master services agreements, is a plus
  • Ability to thrive in a fast-paced environment, utilizing effective organizational skills to prioritize and manage deadlines for multiple simultaneous projects for multiple team members
  • Strong written and oral communication skills
  • Organizational skills with excellent judgment and attention to detail
  • Critical, analytical thinking and problem-solving capability
  • Proven ability to build relationships of trust
  • Strong Microsoft Office skills, including Word, Outlook, SharePoint, Excel, and PowerPoint
